This game is notable as it was the first game the Cowboys played after the January 27, 2001, plane crash that killed 10 members (including 2 players) of its basketball program. The doomed plane was one of 2 that the Cowboys had taken to their game at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. Oklahoma State defeated the Tigers 69-66 with Victor Williams scoring 9 points in the game. Missouri’s squad featured future NBA player Kareem Rush, future NFL player Justin Gage, and future owner of the Denver Nuggets, Josh Kroenke.
