A Championship Connection

For more than a century, the University of Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball program has shared a special bond with the Wyandotte Bulldogs.

Nineteen Bulldogs have gone on to play for the Jayhawks, carrying the pride of Wyandotte onto one of college basketball’s grandest stages.

Remarkably, sixteen of those Jayhawks were also members of Wyandotte’s state championship teams — a testament to the winning tradition, talent, and legacy built in our gym.

Six Bulldogs played for Jayhawk Final Four teams. Included in that group are the three Bulldogs that played on the Wilt Chamberlain-led KU team that fell to North Carolina in the 1957 National Championship game that was held at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri.
